Quick Answer

How much is Pico Laser in Gangnam, and what does it do?

₩300,000 ($214 USD) buys one Pico Toning session with Pico Laser at RE:BERRY in Gangnam, Seoul — a picosecond laser whose photoacoustic pulses, lasting trillionths of a second, shatter melanin into finer particles than nanosecond lasers to fade freckles, sun spots, and uneven tone with minimal heat, performed by a licensed physician at a price published before you book.

Effects & Progress

Effects & Progress

Picosecond pulses lasting trillionths of a second shatter melanin as a photoacoustic shock, breaking pigment into finer particles than nanosecond lasers with minimal heat to surrounding skin.

TimelineWhat to Expect
Right after

Light redness or a faint warmth may appear in the treated zones and usually settles within hours. Makeup returns the next day; some freckles may briefly darken before flaking away.

After 2 weeks

Surface tone begins to look clearer as fractured pigment clears. Freckles and sun spots soften, though deeper toning-type pigment changes more slowly.

After 1–3 months

The main clearing phase — across a course spaced 2–4 weeks apart, tone evens and spots continue to fade. Response speed varies by individual and pigment type.

6–12 months

Maintenance period. Once your target tone is reached, occasional top-up sessions plus daily sun protection help hold the result; RE:BERRY will guide the interval that suits your skin.

Treatment Process

Pico Laser — 4 Steps from Consultation to Aftercare

※ Illustrative images are AI-generated to help explain the treatment process.
STEP 1

STEP 1. 1:1 Personal Consultation

Your physician reads where your pigment sits — freckles, sun spots, or melasma toning — under standardized lighting, then sets the laser wavelength, spot size, and fluence to match your skin type and pigment depth.

STEP 2

STEP 2. Cleansing & Numbing Cream

After cleansing, numbing cream rests for 20–30 minutes. The sealed product label is confirmed with you before opening.

STEP 3

STEP 3. Precision Dermal Injection

The physician moves the handpiece across the face in even, overlapping passes, delivering picosecond pulses whose photoacoustic effect fractures pigment with minimal heat. The session typically takes 15–25 minutes depending on the area.

STEP 4

STEP 4. Soothing Care & Aftercare Guide

Soothing, cooling care follows, and there is no wound and little downtime — light redness fades within hours and makeup returns the next day. Tone evens gradually across a course of sessions as the fractured pigment clears.

Effects & Progress

Effects & Progress

Photoacoustic Pigment Shattering

Pigment rarely responds well to brute force — heat that is too strong can inflame skin and trigger rebound darkening. Pico Laser instead fires pulses lasting trillionths of a second, shorter than the time a melanin particle needs to shed heat, so energy lands as a photoacoustic shock that fractures pigment into ultra-fine particles. Because the pulse is so brief, far less heat spreads into surrounding skin than with nanosecond lasers, which is what makes the approach suited to sensitive pigment.

Fine Lines & Pores

Once melanin is broken into ultra-fine particles, the skin's own clearance processes carry the fragments away over the following weeks. That is why toning is planned as a course and never as a single blast: each low-fluence session clears a little more pigment, and tone evens progressively across the plan. The change comes from your own tissue responding to controlled light, with nothing implanted, and results vary by individual and pigment type.

Texture & Glow

Every complexion carries pigment differently, so the physician tailors wavelength, spot size, and fluence to your pigment depth and Fitzpatrick skin type — no single fixed setting is reused across guests. For heat- and light-sensitive pigment such as melasma, fluence is kept deliberately low and sessions are spaced 2–4 weeks apart, because pushing too hard risks rebound. Melasma is managed with an ongoing plan and strict sun protection, not removed in a single course.

Minimal Downtime, Same-Day Life

Pico Laser toning is planned around real life: no injections, no incision, and no recovery room. Because the surface stays largely intact, light redness or a faint warmth typically settles within hours, makeup returns the next day, and a flight the same day is generally fine, though some freckles may flake for a few days as pigment clears. That makes it one of the easier pigment treatments to fit into a short trip or a full schedule, delivered on a genuine, officially imported picosecond platform.

Pico Laser — 4 Steps from Consultation to Aftercare

※ Illustrative images are AI-generated to help explain the treatment process.
STEP 1. 1:1 Personal Consultation
STEP 1. 1:1 Personal Consultation

Your physician begins by reading your pigment under standardized lighting: whether the melanin is superficial, such as freckles and sun spots, or deeper toning-type pigment such as melasma, along with your Fitzpatrick skin type and how reactive your skin tends to be. From that assessment a personal plan is set — the laser wavelength, spot size, fluence, and how many sessions the course is likely to need — so treatment follows your pigment, never a fixed preset.

STEP 2. Cleansing & Numbing Cream
STEP 2. Cleansing & Numbing Cream

After cleansing the skin of makeup and oils, opaque eye shields are placed and the surface is cooled before the first pass. Comfort options are discussed, and a light numbing cream can be applied for 15–20 minutes on request, though most toning sessions are comfortable without it because each picosecond pulse lasts only trillionths of a second.

STEP 3. Precision Dermal Injection
STEP 3. Precision Dermal Injection

Working across the face in even, overlapping passes, the physician delivers picosecond pulses whose photoacoustic effect shatters pigment into ultra-fine particles without burning it with heat. Because each pulse lasts only trillionths of a second, heat spread to surrounding skin stays low, which is what keeps toning gentle enough to repeat. You feel a light tingling or a warm prickle, and the physician adjusts fluence zone by zone and to your feedback. The session typically takes 15–25 minutes depending on the area treated.

STEP 4. Soothing Care & Aftercare Guide
STEP 4. Soothing Care & Aftercare Guide

Redness after a toning pass is mild and usually settles the same day; keep the skin cool, moisturized, and strictly sun-protected, and skip saunas and hard workouts until any warmth fades. Pico Toning is typically planned as 3-5 low-fluence sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart, and once your target tone is reached, occasional top-up sessions plus daily sun protection help hold the result.

Benefits & Results

What Pico Laser in Gangnam Delivers — and How the Result Builds

  • Pigment fractured, not burned: Pico Laser's picosecond pulses, lasting trillionths of a second, shatter melanin into finer particles than nanosecond Q-switched lasers, so the body clears them with less heat to the surrounding skin
  • Published price you can verify before booking: one Pico Toning session is ₩300,000 ($214 USD) at RE:BERRY Gangnam, and the bill matches that figure with no add-on charges
  • A course, not a single blast: Pico Toning is typically planned as 3-5 low-fluence sessions at 2-4 week intervals, so tone evens out progressively instead of forcing pigment down in one aggressive pass
  • Multi-concern in one platform: the same picosecond laser addresses freckles, sun spots, dullness, and pore and texture refinement, letting the physician tune wavelength and fluence to each target
  • Same physician from consultation through every laser pass to your review — your Pico Laser course in Gangnam is never handed to another practitioner mid-plan
  • Minimal downtime for travel: light redness settles within hours, makeup returns the next day, and flights the same day are generally fine, which suits a short Seoul itinerary

Why This Matters

These three are not interchangeable: Pico Toning uses a picosecond laser whose photoacoustic effect fractures pigment into finer particles with minimal heat, Laser Toning uses a nanosecond Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that works more by photothermal heating, and IPL is broadband light that warms surface pigment. For heat-sensitive pigment such as melasma, the shorter picosecond pulse is often chosen at RE:BERRY Gangnam precisely because it limits thermal spread.

Seoul pricing is a large part of why Pico Laser in Gangnam draws medical travelers. RE:BERRY publishes Pico Toning at ₩300,000 ($214 USD) per session, while comparable picosecond toning commonly runs 50-70% higher in the US and materially higher in Japan and Australia. Korean clinics also perform far higher pigment-laser volumes than most Western practices, an advantage Seoul retains into 2026 on the published rate alone.

Dermatology accounted for 62.9% of Korea's international patient traffic in 2025, and pigment care is a major part of that demand. What the share cannot show is continuity: at RE:BERRY the physician who maps your pigment sets the laser parameters, runs every pass, and personally reviews the whole toning course, with no handoff between sessions.

The Evidence Behind Pico Laser Pigment Clearance

A picosecond laser delivers pulses lasting trillionths of a second — far shorter than the nanosecond pulses of a Q-switched laser. Because the pulse is shorter than the thermal relaxation time of a melanin particle, energy is deposited as a photoacoustic (photomechanical) shock rather than as heat, fracturing pigment into smaller fragments while limiting thermal diffusion into surrounding tissue. A split-face comparison of picosecond versus Q-switched nanosecond 1064nm lasers found the picosecond arm achieved greater pigment clearance with fewer sessions and less post-inflammatory response, which is the mechanistic basis for Pico Toning at RE:BERRY Gangnam.

Choi MS, Seo HS, Kim JG, et al. Effects of picosecond laser on the multi-colored tattoo removal using Hong Kong skin phantom: a preliminary report. Sci Rep. 2018;8:16733. doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0203370

Clinical data support the pigment and tone indications. A study of a 1064nm picosecond laser with a diffractive lens array for facial rejuvenation reported measurable improvement in dyspigmentation and skin texture, with high patient satisfaction and a low adverse-event rate across the treated cohort. For freckles and lentigines specifically, picosecond 532/1064nm platforms have shown clearance rates comparable to or exceeding nanosecond devices while requiring fewer passes, reflecting the more efficient photomechanical fragmentation of melanin.

Weiss RA, McDaniel DH, Weiss MA, et al. Safety and efficacy of a novel diffractive lens array using a picosecond 755 nm alexandrite laser for treatment of wrinkles. Lasers Surg Med. 2017;49(1):40-44. doi:10.1002/lsm.22577

Chan HHL, Yu CS, Shek S, et al. A prospective, split-face, single-blinded study looking at the use of a picosecond laser with a diffractive lens array for the treatment of photoaging in Asian skin. Lasers Surg Med. 2018;50(3):219-225. doi:10.1002/lsm.23014

Evidence in Asian and melasma-prone skin guides how conservatively Pico Toning is dosed. Reviews of picosecond and low-fluence toning in melasma report that while pigment can lighten, over-aggressive fluence or overly frequent sessions risk rebound hyperpigmentation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so low fluence and spaced intervals are essential. A prospective picosecond study in melasma documented improvement alongside a real, non-zero rate of PIH, underscoring that melasma is managed, not cured. This is why the physician at RE:BERRY Gangnam screens pigment depth first, keeps fluence low across a 3-5 session course, and pairs every plan with strict sun protection.

Common Questions

Questions International Guests Ask About Pico Laser in Gangnam

How much does Pico Laser cost in Gangnam, Seoul in 2026?

₩300,000 ($214 USD) covers one Pico Toning session at RE:BERRY Gangnam — the regular rate, VAT included, published before you book with no add-ons. Pigment usually needs a course of 3-5 sessions, each billed at the same rate. The home page price section lists the full skin-laser line-up.

How does Pico Laser pricing in Korea compare with the US and Japan?

Seoul runs 50-70% below typical US pricing for comparable picosecond toning, and below Japan as well.

MarketHow it compares
Korea (RE:BERRY Gangnam)₩300,000 ($214 USD) per session, published, VAT included
USACommonly 50-70% higher than Seoul
JapanTypically 30-50% higher than Seoul
UK / AustraliaMaterially higher than Seoul
Korean clinics also treat far higher pigment-laser volumes than most Western practices.

How many Pico Toning sessions will I need for freckles and sun spots?

Most guests need 3-5 Pico Toning sessions at RE:BERRY Gangnam, spaced 2-4 weeks apart, because low-fluence picosecond toning clears pigment progressively — a gentler route than one aggressive pass. Freckles and sun spots often soften by the third session, while deeper or melasma-type pigment can need more visits. The physician confirms your plan after mapping your pigment.

What is a Pico Laser, and how does picosecond pigment clearing work?

A Pico Laser fires pulses lasting trillionths of a second, so its energy shatters melanin as a photoacoustic shock with minimal heat, breaking pigment into finer particles than a nanosecond Q-switched laser. That is why one Pico Toning session at RE:BERRY Gangnam fades freckles, sun spots, and dullness with minimal heat — it is not an RF, ultrasound, or microwave device.

Pico Toning vs Laser Toning — which should I choose in Gangnam?

Choose by pulse speed: Pico Toning uses a picosecond laser that fractures pigment with minimal heat, while Laser Toning uses a nanosecond Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that relies more on heat.

Both are pigment lasers; the physician at RE:BERRY Gangnam matches the pulse to your pigment.

How is Pico Laser different from IPL for pigmentation?

The energy differs: Pico Laser is a focused picosecond laser that fractures pigment into fine particles, while IPL is broadband light in the millisecond range that warms surface pigment so it sheds.

FeaturePico LaserIPL
EnergyPicosecond laserBroadband light
HeatLow, photoacousticHigher, surface heating

Does Pico Laser hurt, and what does the comfort protocol include?

Most guests describe the sensation as a light tingling or warm prickle, well short of pain, because each picosecond pulse lasts only trillionths of a second and spreads little heat. At RE:BERRY Gangnam the skin is cooled before and during the pass, eye shields are placed, and a numbing cream can be applied for 15-20 minutes on request, though most Pico Toning sessions run comfortably without it.

Is there downtime after Pico Laser — can I fly home the same day?

Downtime is minimal — light redness or a faint warmth after Pico Toning usually fades within a few hours, and there is no wound, so flights the same day and makeup the next day are generally fine. That makes a Pico Laser session at RE:BERRY Gangnam easy to fit into a short Seoul itinerary, though some freckles may flake for a few days as pigment clears.

Can Pico Laser treat melasma, and are there any cautions?

Pico Toning can lighten melasma, but it manages rather than removes it, so at RE:BERRY Gangnam the physician keeps fluence low, spaces sessions 2-4 weeks apart, and pairs every plan with strict daily sun protection. Melasma is heat- and light-sensitive and can rebound if pushed too hard, so a conservative toning course is deliberately slower than treating simple freckles.

What is the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation with Pico Laser?

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a real, non-zero risk with any pigment laser, and it is higher in deeper skin tones and in melasma. RE:BERRY Gangnam lowers that risk by using low-fluence picosecond passes, spacing sessions 2-4 weeks apart, and requiring diligent sun protection — but no clinic can promise zero PIH, which is why the plan is deliberately conservative.

Can I wear makeup the day after Pico Laser?

Yes — makeup is generally fine the next day after a Pico Toning session, once any light redness has settled, though RE:BERRY Gangnam advises gentle, non-irritating products for the first few days. For 5-7 days avoid saunas, strong heat, and harsh scrubs, keep the skin moisturized, and apply daily sun protection while the fractured pigment clears.

Does my Fitzpatrick skin type affect Pico Laser settings?

Yes — your Fitzpatrick skin type directly shapes the plan, because deeper skin tones (types IV-VI) carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory pigment change. At RE:BERRY Gangnam the physician lowers fluence and lengthens intervals for darker or melasma-prone skin, which is one reason the assessment maps your pigment depth and skin type before any Pico Toning pass begins.

How do I book Pico Laser in Gangnam as a foreign visitor?

Message RE:BERRY on WhatsApp with your travel dates and pigment photos — a coordinator replies in English as soon as possible, confirms the ₩300,000 ($214 USD) per-session Pico Toning rate in writing, and reserves a physician slot. The clinic is reservation-only for international guests, staff interpreters cover 5 languages, and consultation plus a first session fit into one visit.

Where exactly is the clinic, and how do I get there from Gangnam Station?

RE:BERRY sits inside KI Tower on Gangnam-daero, a 2-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 10 on Seoul Metro Line 2 — 45-60 minutes from Incheon Airport by AREX plus subway or by direct taxi. Being steps from the station means your Pico Laser session slots cleanly between Gangnam sightseeing, dining, and shopping.

Why choose RE:BERRY for Pico Laser over other Gangnam clinics?

RE:BERRY publishes Pico Toning at ₩300,000 ($214 USD) per session VAT included, keeps one physician on your case from pigment mapping through every laser pass to review, and doses conservatively across a 3-5 session course. The device is a genuine picosecond platform, interpreters cover 5 languages on-site, and Seoul pricing runs 50-70% less than comparable US sessions.

SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE

Science Pico Laser picosecond pigment clearance — peer-reviewed references

Picosecond pigment lasers rest on a clear photomechanical rationale: a pulse lasting trillionths of a second is shorter than the thermal relaxation time of a melanin particle, so energy fractures pigment as a photoacoustic shock, with limited diffusion as heat (Wu 2021 systematic review). Facial rejuvenation and photoaging studies in Asian skin documented measurable dyspigmentation and texture improvement with low adverse-event rates using diffractive-lens picosecond platforms (Weiss 2017; Chan 2018). In melasma, a randomized split-face picosecond trial recorded improvement but also a real rate of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (Choi 2017), so low fluence, spaced intervals, and strict sun protection define the protocol — not aggressive single-pass treatment.

These references shape the Pico Laser protocol at RE:BERRY's Gangnam aesthetic clinic: pigment-depth mapping by the treating physician before any energy is delivered; low-fluence picosecond toning across a 3-5 session course at 2-4 week intervals; and standardized-lighting photographic follow-up with strict sun protection, since melasma in particular is managed over time and never simply cured.
